Somebody, Instead Of A Bum (Normand Prosper)
Saturday, 19th January 2013.
he never knew it was going to be all like this. he was born somewhere else, and always wanted to be a prizefighter and never knew he was going to be a bum.
he always told his brother “you don’t understand. I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am. let’s face it. Charlie”.
“Normand Prosper” means “Prosper Norwegian” in the imperative.
he never knew it was going to be all like this.

“We’ve got some blues, we’ve got some regrets / Made some mistakes but none the less / When it’s all said and done, we’re two lucky bums / Been chasing the same old dreams / Down a road that never ends / And given the chance, old friend / I know we’d do it again” (Dave Alvin & Chris Gaffney)
The adventure of not knowing where these travels will lead us to & where they will end. Just a sunset right in front & smooth landscapes that make failure so much prettier. And all these stories along the way. All these stories. And all these ways, buddy!
All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
ay, Fritsch, Dave Alvin and old man “Gaff” are just great – what a combo those two make!
the Bergen waterfront isn’t the worst place to be bummin’ around on a beautiful day like Saturday – but I sure hope they wore warm clothes ……
stay sound, pal! sound and warm!
Hepp!
