Oh, I Always Wondered Who The Guy With The Camera Was

Posted in 5D-II, Free Ai Weiwei by Knutsvik on May 24, 2011

Tuesday, 24th May 2011.

I remember sitting in some suburban living room in Stavanger, not at home at my parents’ house, but  some other place, watching Bob Dylan’s 50th birthday concert on tape. I was in love, and we both loved the last number when Dylan was backed by Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers. they sang “everybody must get stoned”, and both Bob and Tom looked the part. the song is really called “rainy day women”, and I still think Elvis is better, but Happy Birthday Bob – you’re one of the good guys,

oh, and I always wondered who the guy with the camera was. how cool is that – to be the guy with the camera behind Bob Dylan on the cover of “Highway 61”?

Bob kan ta seg ei pølse. Og I mean that in all the best ways.

          Hepp!

Øyh kaptein! The mighty mighty internetz will give you answerz…

“The cover photograph was taken by photographer Daniel Kramer several weeks before the recording sessions. It captures Dylan sitting on the stoop of the apartment of his manager, Albert Grossman, located in Gramercy Park, New York. Kramer placed Dylan’s friend Bob Neuwirth (carrying a Nikon SP) behind Dylan “to give it extra color”. Dylan is wearing a Triumph motorcycle T-shirt under a blue and purple silk shirt, holding his Ray-Ban sunglasses in his right hand. Photographer Kramer commented in 2010 on Dylan’s expression, “He’s hostile, or it’s a hostile moodiness. He’s almost challenging me or you or whoever’s looking at it: ‘What are you gonna do about it, buster?”

haha! haaaaaaaaaregud, T, var det så enkelt??? *ler*

      Hepp!

Elvis is the King- and will always be, Cameraman Mr Knutsvik.
I must say though, Tom Petty was at lest a runner up for the title “doulphin” that day…Le Royale! Everybody must get stoooooned, (I guess Tom Petty did as he preached …..). It was great, I was in love and will always remember the first time I heard Tom Petty sing that song.

    • Knutsvik said, on May 28, 2011 at 11:57 AM

Ay Caramba, Colter! Mr Petty, The Man From The Florida Wetlands, Is Closer To The King In Spirit Than Most Men, Except For Me, The Legendary Captain Cobra Himself!

So Let’s Get Stoned And Hail The King, Baby!

      Viva! Viva Las Vegas!
