Day Four: Tonight Is Our Last Night, And Nobody Can Reach Me

Posted in D-LUX 5, Free Liu Xia, Free Pussy Riot by Knutsvik on September 6, 2012

Thursday, 6th September 2012. Kowloon, Hong Kong.

bar waiters don’t look the same all over the world, because bars don’t look the same. neither do the clients.  we’ve smoked a lot of cigars after office hours at the Café de Fontaine at Mody Square over the past ten years; our offices used to be next door at the East Ocean Centre and the staff knows us well, but still, bar waiters don’t look the same in Hong Kong as they do back home.

tonight is our last night down here, we leave for Macau tomorrow. at seven o’clock my cell phone dies, and nobody can reach me.

tonight is our last night, and nobody can reach me.

It is quite nice to be unreachable sometimes, I find. It helps me to connect more to the world around me when I know that I can’t possibly take pictures, make a movie, or text anyone or whatever else. Just me and the world, like it used to be. Good for you 🙂

ay, Jennifer, how nice to see you here!

I survived a night without my cell phone, and it felt strange – almost like it used to be, but only almost because we …. never missed our phones when we didn’t know their magic 😀

      thanks for stopping by!

      Hepp!

ayayay, Marie, Café de Fontaine er ein stilig stad som egnar seg utmerka til people watching. Mody Square er travel døgnet rundt, og alle slags menneske fartar forbi på veg til eit eller anna fanteri, vil eg tru 😀

Nobody can reach you like you reach me, captein! And you know what: Mobiles are overrated. It’s these images of yours that count. Especially on your last day.

All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.

ayay, Fritsch, cell phones are overrated, but …. they’re handy too – especially when you’re in a city of eight mill on the other side of the world 😀

(but I agree – who needs a cell as long as you’ve got your camera 😀 )

greetings from that rainy place, pal!

      Hepp!
