“There’s Some Cold Ziti In The Fridge, Tony!” (To Wives And Mistresses!)
Thursday, 20th June 2013.
I was genuinely saddened when I woke up this morning and heard that James Gandolfini died at 51 from a coronary heart attack in Rome yesterday. this one’s for you, Tony: to wives and mistresses, may they never meet!
you’ll always have a deck chair and a duck feed bin to stash your stuff up here, pal!
“He told me it would be alright to go and have fun / He said he loves his family but it was time to run / I loved that old man, I wrote him this song / Tell me, where do the great ones go when they’re gone” (Langhorne Slim)
Let’s raise our glasses & cherish the ones gone way to soon knowing that we’ll meet again someday, buddy. With wives, mistresses & cold pilsner on deck chairs close to that beautful heaven. And finally drying our tears from the times we been apart.
All the best & safe travels, Fritsch.
ay, Fritsch, buddy, some leave way too soon…
it’s strange to see how many people have expressed their grief over Gandolfini online since the news broke yesterday. most of us never knew him, never met him, yet still his passing has obviously touched many of us in a weird way …..
G was one of those great ones that Lanhorne sings about, and I had one for him yesterday, and then a couple more 😀
happy trails, happy travels, pal!
Hepp!
He was a soulbrother, captein. And it just feels like I met him a hundred times because I spent a lot of lonely motel nights with him. A great one he was. A great one he will remain, pal!
ay, Fritsch, those lonely nights out there, huh, buddy? they’re hard wired and what we are, and there’s nothing better than a friend on the road. and it’s just bad losing him….
(and it’ too bad to have lost him!)
Hepp!
Ein finfin plass for kvile 🙂
ay, Marie, når gaaaamle Kaptein Calypso har fått av seg armbandsuret, fyrt opp ein sigar og opna ei kald flaske kapteinsbrus sig roa på. sjølv om skjora gjer sitt for å forstyrra 😀
Hepp!
May they never meet… yep, I second that!
Somehow I don’t feel sorry for him… just for me… missing the chance to find out where his great performances eventually would take him.
Skål for James, wherever he is… the loss is ours, not his.
ay, good morning, C!
as an actor his work was groundbreaking on television, and his mere … presence in pop culture cannot be overestimated, I think. the sky was his limit…..
salute, Cilly – let’s drink to him!
Hepp!
Beautiful black and white
ay, Roland – thanks, man!
